# Driver Dashboard

BDP empower drivers with a delivery interface built for bulk in the 21st century

{% @supademo/embed demoId="JMDlOszbgaCrU4qzErsru" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/JMDlOszbgaCrU4qzErsru>" %}

## Order List (Today)

The default view of the Driver Dashboard, manage present-day Orders using the tabs marked "Unassigned," "My Orders," and "All," each with a blue numeric indicator bubble.&#x20;

*Unassigned*: to start the day, Orders will appear in the "Unassigned" tab in sequential order of scheduled delivery. Orders from the day's first [Timeslot](/settings/delivery-slots) appear at the top, each followed by the next throughout the day.&#x20;

*My Orders*: drivers can "Assign" Orders to themselves, or Orders can be Assigned to them by an Admin. Once Assigned, Order transfers from "Unassigned" to the driver's queue, aka "My Orders."&#x20;

*All*: As Orders are pulled from the "Unassigned" tab and worked, they'll remain visible to the operation in the "All" tab, where active and completed Orders compile for reference.&#x20;

### Taking a Delivery

At this point, a Driver is probably logged into BDP on their smartphone, or a dash-mounted device. From "My Orders," Driver clicks "Details" to access the Order page (Driver View).

Within the Order page, Driver has all pertinent details at their fingertips- volume and product, scheduled time, destination address/Pin Drop (click address or "Directions to Dump Point" to boot Google Maps navigation), delivery notes, and customer contact information. Admin notes allow Drivers to report back to HQ.&#x20;

*Delivering*: When Driver is loading the truck, click the "Delivering" status button at top to mark the Order as in-progress, which also initiates an automatic [SMS Notification](/pro-tips/customer-sms-notifications) to the customer announcing:

> "Hello from (company name)! We are loading up your order of (Volume - Product) and will be headed your way shortly!"&#x20;

*Complete*: After successful delivery, Driver clicks the "Complete" status button at top to mark the Order as done, also giving the Driver's the option to send a 'Thank You' or 'Thank You + [Review Request](/pro-tips/getting-online-reviews)' text message.&#x20;

> "Thank you from (company name)! Your order of (Volume - Product) has been delivered. If you have a spare moment, would you consider leaving us a good review? (Google review link included). Thanks again from our whole crew!"

### Same-Day Ordering

\*this feature only visible if you've [enabled Same Day Ordering](/settings/calendar-and-availability#availability-settings) in Settings > Calendar & Availability

*If you're willing to give it a shot, Same-Day Ordering is a game-changing feature for bulk hauling operations- especially when the sun is shining. Wake up with 7 orders booked, finish the day with 20...*

Same-Day Ordering means customers can place an order for delivery that same day, so long as a delivery slot is available. Once Same-Days are enabled, an indicator switch appears at the top right of the Driver Dashboard, which by default is green or "turned on" to start each day. At any point in the day, a Driver or Admin can manually "turn off" Same-Days by clicking the switch, which will turn red. Same-Day Ordering is then automatically re-enabled to start the next day. By default, Same-Days shut off each day as soon the clock enters the day's last time slot, as customers cannot order within a given slot. For instance, if your last time slot is (2:00pm - 5:00pm), Same-Days will no longer be accepted starting at 2:00pm, except on the rare occasion as noted below.

{% hint style="danger" %}
\*\*NOTE: BDP holds a customer's time slot for 15 minutes when they initiate checkout. If a customer abandons their shopping cart at 1:59pm, but then resumes the process- an order could slip in as late at 2:14pm. If your last time slot is (2:00pm - 5:00pm), your last official check for Same-Days should be 2:15pm, or 15 minutes into your final slot.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

## Order Map (Today)

Satellite pins mark the day's deliveries to help facilitate dispatch and route optimization. Pins change color based on order status (red = scheduled, blue = assigned, green = delivering, black = delivered) and initials of the driver responsible appear once assigned.&#x20;

Use the < > arrows to scroll forward to view future dates.

## [All Orders](/orders/orders)

Drivers can reference the entire [Orders](/orders/orders) archive and utilize its powerful search functionality. Click an Order Number to view details of each delivery.

## [Vendors](/products/vendors)

Convenient reference for company information of your various material [Vendors](/products/vendors), including address, phone number, associated Products, and any miscellaneous notes.&#x20;

# Loader Dashboard

Allow customers to pre-pay online for orders they'll pick up at your yard

*\*this feature is visible only if you've* [*enabled Pick Ups*](/settings/pick-up-orders) *in **Settings > Pick Up Orders.***&#x20;

*Orders placed for Pick Up queue up in the **Loader Dashboard**, awaiting the customer's arrival for fulfillment. Check it out-*

{% @supademo/embed demoId="4Q1uOVZWQLLdAZ22ByWs1" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/4Q1uOVZWQLLdAZ22ByWs1>" %}

### Loading with BDP

Loader operator clicks "Assign" to claim an Order when the customer arrives to pick up their material, then clicks "Details" to work the load. Upon loading, operator has the ability to mark the Order as Complete or *Partial*, depending on the customer's vehicle hauling capacity. For instance, a customer in a small pickup truck orders 3 Yards of mulch, but clearly can only haul 1 cubic yard at a time- Loader will mark 1 of 3 YDS complete on the first trip, and so on. BDP will track "Partials" so other operators have visibility into previous loads. When an Order is finished, Loader marks it "Complete" with the option to send a 'Thank You + Review Request" to the customer.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
\*\*HINT: while a customer does not need to *schedule* a Pick Up as they would a Delivery, you can set an "[Order Expiration in Days](/settings/pick-up-orders)" so that forgotten orders don't crowd up the Dashboard ("expired" Pick Up orders can always be found in the Orders archive)
{% endhint %}

# POS Kiosk

Quickly capture orders and payments from in-person customers for pick up products.

Use this admin interface to simplify in-person transactions. Consider also adding a [Stripe Terminal](/settings/payment-tax-and-disclaimers/point-of-sale) to create a seamless card-present transaction for pick up products.

**Steps to Kiosk Checkout:**

1. Click on the product being purchased.
2. In the cart, adjust the volume being purchased for pick up.
3. Optionally assign a customer including those assigned to a "[PRO Team](/pro-teams)" and any "Job" information.
4. Easily add additional products (& volumes) as additional line items.
5. Select "Process Order" and choose from the available payment options.

1. have access to their (secret?) discounted pricing, and
2. be able to assign Job names if required

{% hint style="info" %}
note: PRO Team members can always place orders as a guest through your website (when NOT logged in as a PRO), as any other retail customer- for example, if buying for personal use/home property
{% endhint %}

### PRO Team Page

1. Make sure you've uploaded your company logo as an [App Icon](/settings/appearance#logos-and-imagery)
2. Send PRO Team customers a link (email or text) to your BDP log in screen, directing them to log in and select "Remember Me"
3. Share this documentation on ["How to Add Easy Bulk Ordering to your Smartphone,"](/pro-tips/phone-app) whether iPhone or Android

Now PRO Teams can add your company logo (App Icon) to their smartphone to seamlessly place orders in a few clicks of the thumb. App shortcut will take them to your front-end catalog with any discounts preloaded.&#x20;

# Estimates

Send quick and confident quotes that convert, eliminating the back-and-forth

{% @supademo/embed demoId="JGr2a6OP9cQCrb6cdVwYp" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/JGr2a6OP9cQCrb6cdVwYp>" %}

*In general, BDP allows you to refer customers to your website for all ordering & scheduling. But occasionally a customer has a request that's outside your standard online offering- one that you’re  willing to accommodate for the right price. Whether they're slightly outside your Delivery Zones,  needing a unique quantity, or some other one-off situation, Estimates has it covered.*&#x20;

Whether on the phone, via email or text- gather these 6 pieces of information:

1. Customer Name
2. Product and Qty- What material and how much?
3. Physical Address- Where are we delivering?
4. Timeframe for delivery- When are you needing this material delivered?&#x20;
5. Email Address- What's a good email to shoot the quote?
6. Phone Number- or verify you've captured it from the call

With the above info, end the call telling the customer you're going to send a quote, and if they'd like to proceed, follow the link to finish placing the order online. The customer will need to drag & drop their delivery pin, check the disclaimer boxes, and pre-pay. If you're able to enter the details in real-time, you can have the quote in their hands before they’re off the phone.&#x20;

#### Click "**Create Estimate"**&#x20;

Specify *Delivery Estimate* or *Pick Up Estimate*, then select the **Product**, followed by **Quantity.**

If entering a custom volume, select “Other” and then enter the **“Other Qty (for customer)”** in numbers & words (for example: 6.5 yards)- this is what they customer will see. Enter the corresponding numeral (numbers & decimal only) in the next **“Other Qty”** field. You will also need to enter a custom **Price** (number & decimal only)- enter price of material only, delivery price will be determined in another field.&#x20;

**Location Information:** enter the customer’s physical address for delivery. Optionally, this can be left blank for the customer to select. If entered, the actual dump point (pin) will be set by the customer. If the address you enter is within one of your delivery zones, the appropriate delivery fee will populate. If outside your zones, you will need to enter a custom Delivery Price.&#x20;

**Delivery Time:** select an existing time block or enter a custom delivery window by selecting a beginning time and an end time. Optionally, this field can be left blank for the customer to select.&#x20;

Once the required information is populated, click **“Send Customer Quote."** In the pop up window, enter the customer’s name, email address, & phone number. Review or edit the quote description, which is the actual text the customer will receive to consider & execute the purchase.&#x20;

**Quote Expires:** select a timeframe, or designate a day/time for the quote to expire. You want to give the customer a chance to consider & conveniently order, but you also need to keep business moving along- setting an expiration creates a sense of urgency and helps to nudge a decision.&#x20;

By default and for added customer convenience, they'll receive the quote via both email and SMS Notification- either can be unselected. **Send** & see if the customer converts...

Once sent, a record of the **Outstanding Quote** will appear at bottom, with the option to **Rescind**- clicking this will make the quote null & void, customer will not be able to order.&#x20;

At top right of the Estimate page, find the **Actions** drop-down to discover more options-

* Need to create a nearly-identical Estimate? **Duplicate** and and make minor adjustments.&#x20;
* **Delete** a draft Estimate altogether

# Products

BDP makes it easy to maintain your inventory & publish a beautifully organized catalog

{% @supademo/embed demoId="r0VpCR1Y-QHiQL-hOJ\_7G" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/r0VpCR1Y-QHiQL-hOJ_7G>" %}

### Click "Create Product"

Enter **Product Name** & click "Save." Enter product **Description-** the text entered here will be published on your web catalog Product Page for customers to read.

Next to product name is a **Product Status** switch toggled to *Active* by default. This indicates the Product as available for purchase. Switch to *inactive* to remove from public view, but keep archived.&#x20;

**Cost (USD)** refers to supply-side cost of material (cost to you- whether delivered to your yard, picked up from the pit, or manufactured). Choose **per CY** (cubic yard) or **per TON**.

Enter **Product Weight** in pounds per cubic yard (lbs/yd)- the system will compare product weight against Vehicle capacity to route loads appropriately. Find a working weight/volume conversion by driving twice over an industrial truck scale- first empty, and then again with 1 cubic yard of product.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}

### Cubic Yards vs Tons-

While bulk materials like rock/aggregate are often supplied wholesale by weight (tons), we recommend selling by volume (cubic yards) wherever possible. In order to purchase accurate amounts, spatial measurement is far more useful for the typical end-user, as compared to weight. *For example: use 3"-5" gravel for a base, fill a raised bed with 1 yard garden soil, cover an area 10’ x 10’ with 3 inches mulch-* these outdoor projects rely on physical dimensions (i.e. volume), not weights.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

#### Product Availability

The top switch indicates whether the product is currently **In-Stock**. If switched off, the item is considered *Out of Stock*- customers can still view its catalog page, but they won’t be able to purchase it. Plus, you can choose below to publish a custom message regarding the product’s status (*for example: "Temporarily Out of Stock, please check back 3/15"*).

Another switch determines whether this page’s Product information will be **Published** live to your website. Leave all three switches toggled green if you have an item available for purchase, in stock, and you want to actively sell it online.&#x20;

Under **Product / Delivery Unavailable**, un-check any days this product is not available. For instance, are you closed Sundays? Is the quarry where you get the Product closed weekends?&#x20;

#### Images

BDP makes it easy to drag & drop high resolution images of your products. Upload instantly from a smartphone camera. Supports heic, png, jpg files.

{% hint style="success" %}
\*TIP: good photos make a BIG difference. We recommend uploading at least two photos for each product- one of the product itself, another with size/scale reference (*for example: a hand holding the material, dollar bill, or golf ball, etc.*)
{% endhint %}

#### Product Prices (Delivery)

Add the volume buttons that you want to display for purchase, along with pricing (material only).&#x20;

Click "Add New Item." In the first column, write out the button *"Label"* that the customers will see & click to purchase that particular amount (1 Yard, for example). Next, using numbers and decimals only, enter the corresponding numerical *"Quantity (cubic yards)"* which the system will use for calculation in the background (enter 1.0 for the ‘1 Yard’ label). The *"Price"* column is for material price only; do NOT include delivery- it will be added later. Click "Add New Item" to build your next button. Alternatively, clicking the (+) button will use the prior interval to automatically build the next line. Click the "*Call?"* box if you’d like to present a certain volume/option for sale but without a published price, this will direct the customer to contact your office directly. For example, “15+ Yards” or "Custom Amt." option that prompts customer to call, at which you can send a custom [Estimate](/estimates/estimates).&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
\*\*Be thoughtful when considering your volume options, so as to 1) offer volumes conducive to both your operation and your customers' needs, and 2) not to overload the Product page with an overwhelming number of options for purchase
{% endhint %}

#### Product Prices (Pick Up)

*\*this field only visible if you've enabled* [*Pick Up Orders* ](/settings/pick-up-orders)

If you load customer & contractor vehicles at your yard, make sure to build buttons for Pick Up as well, even if the volumes offered and product prices (again, material only) are identical to those above. Some businesses allow lesser minimums or others volumes, or offer slightly different pricing when the material is picked up vs. delivered. This will allow purchasing customers to toggle between DELIVERY and PICK UP options at purchase:

<figure><img src="/files/0tZxGy6rWsyCOailwu5C" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### **Video Embed**&#x20;

Add video content directly onto the Product’s catalog page, using either YouTube or Vimeo URLs.&#x20;

#### **Checkout Disclaimers**

Product-specific disclaimers allow you to disclose anything you'd like about particular product or feature (not to be confused with more general [Checkout Disclaimers](/settings/payment-tax-and-disclaimers/checkout-disclaimers)). These will appear at checkout only when the particular product is purchased. For example, "I understand that dye form colored mulches can leach and stain concrete, especially when exposed to rain, water, or other precipitation. Product should be relocated from driveway/sidewalk as quickly as possible."

#### Associated Vendors

\*make sure to add [Vendors](/products/vendors) in order to utilize this feature

Select the appropriate Associated Vendor(s) for this particular product to indicate to drivers and staff where each product is sourced. This can be particularly helpful for new hires out in the field, who can easily reference vendor address & phone number if needed. Click the gold star to indicate a "preferred vendor."&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
\*HINT: if you stock material at your yard, add your own company to your Vendors list, and select as Associated Vendor to leverage [Inventory Tracking](#vendor-inventory-settings) tools (described below)
{% endhint %}

#### **Vendor Inventory Settings**

Once an Associated Vendor is selected, click the gear icon to expose Inventory Settings&#x20;

Enable **Track Inventory** to leverage this tool and expose further settings. Switch on **Notifications** to trigger automatic low-inventory emails be sent to administrators when stock pile falls below the established **Threshold**. Further, **Include Pending** to anticipate dwindling inventory by including in the calculation those volumes that have been ordered but not yet gone out for delivery.&#x20;

Click the displayed *QOH* (quantity on hand), which defaults to "0 Yds" to start. Here, you can manually adjust the QOH as needed (Add, Subtract, or Reset) and record any Adjustment Notes.&#x20;

#### **Sales Tax Code**

This field is only visible once you've [Enabled Sales Tax](/settings/payment-tax-and-disclaimers/sales-tax). Select any specific Sales Tax Code as needed for each Product, importantly those needing to be marked *Nontaxable*.

#### SKU & Google Category (Optional)

Entering a custom-to-you SKU can help keep your catalog organized if you are working with another system. For example, our SQUARE integration relies on this value to provide inventory syncing capabilities.

Setting a Google Category assists in creating a valid Google Shopping Feed for use with [Google Merchant Center](/pro-tips/google-merchant-center).

#### **SEO Settings**

**Product Slug** refers to the last part of the URL address that will uniquely identify the particular page, here optionally customizable in SEO-friendly format. For example, for a product named "Crushed River Rock (3/4" Rainbow)", you might enter “crushed-river-rock-three-quarter-inch-rainbow.” Enter a **Canonical URL** to distinguish a preferred version of the product's URL for enhanced search engine optimization. &#x20;

#### Actions&#x20;

At top right of the Product page, find the **Actions** drop-down to discover more options-

* Select **View Produc**t to preview your work and see what your customers will see (note: you will need to have drawn at least one [Delivery Zone](/settings/delivery-zones-and-pricing) for the page to load). This will bring up the Product’s public-facing catalog page in a new tab.&#x20;
* Need to add a nearly-identical Product? **Duplicate** a product and make minor adjustments.&#x20;
* **Delete** a product altogether

{% hint style="danger" %}
\*HINT: instead of deleting a Product, consider instead marking it "inactive" so it disappears from your public catalog, but remains archived in your inventory
{% endhint %}

# Categories

Organize your products for a neat, professional online catalog

### Click "**Create Product Category"**

Enter **Category Name** & click "Save." Enter category **Description-** the text entered here will be published on your web catalog Category Page for customers to read.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Example categories:** Soil & Compost **/** Mulch & Bark **/** Gravel, Rock & Sand **/** Decorative **/** Recycled **/** Aggregates **/** Firewood **/** Straw Products **/** Palletized **/** In-Store Pick-Up Only
{% endhint %}

#### Cover Image

Upload a representative photo for the category. This photo will appear on your catalog landing page if you elect to display your catalog using the [Category Links](/settings/appearance#catalog-layout) layout format. Clicking the cover image will link visitors to this category's associated product for purchase.&#x20;

#### Associated Products

Select all products you wish to organize under this particular category, which will help your customers browse & compare like items. \*Note: products can be associated with multiple categories (for example, Decomposed Granite might be listed under both *Decorative* and *Aggregates*).

#### SEO Settings

**Category Slug** refers to the last part of the URL address that will uniquely identify the particular page, here optionally customizable in SEO-friendly format. For example, for a category named "Gravel, Rock, & Sand," you might enter “gravel-rock-sand.” Enter a **Canonical URL** to distinguish a preferred version of the category's URL for enhanced search engine optimization. &#x20;

# Vendors

Convenient rolodex of all your product suppliers & optional inventory tracking

### Click "Create Vendor"

Enter contact information (name, phone website, address) for each of the suppliers where you procure your various materials. This Vendor list guides drivers & staff to the correct source for each material and also informs the [Inventory Tracking](/products/products#vendor-inventory-settings) feature when enabled.

Once the applicable Vendor is added, you can then click back to a Product in your inventory to link the Associated Vendor(s) for that particular Product.

{% hint style="success" %}
\*TIP: add your own business as a Vendor if you stock material at your own site
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: each Team Role is associated with a different level of account access and operational functionality, based on that role's needs/permissions.&#x20;

* **Owner**: access to full suite of BDP tools, including account deletion
* **Administrator**: access to full suite of BDP tools, excluding account deletion
* **Staff**: in-house drivers; functionality focused on Driver Dashboard, Orders, & Calendar
* **Simple**: 3rd party drivers, subcontractors; minimal access, limited to assigned order details

# Create Vehicle

BDP learns your roster of trucks & trailers to leverage operational hauling capacities

{% @supademo/embed demoId="IQB30Foz8kz7Nay65EmdJ" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/IQB30Foz8kz7Nay65EmdJ>" %}

Click **Vehicles** on the left menu, then click **Create Vehicle**. After naming the rig, enter:

### **Payload Constraints**&#x20;

*These optional values calculate the maximum payload for this vehicle. If entered, this vehicle will be available when calculated order weight is less than the "Payload (Maximum)" value.*

* **Gross Weight (GVWR)** = Maximum loaded weight of vehicle, as determined by the manufacturer.&#x20;
* **Curb Weight** = Weight of vehicle empty, fully fueled and 1 driver (no passengers or cargo)&#x20;
  * BDP will automatically calculate your **Payload (Maximum)**, or total carrying capacity by weight

### **Volume Constraints**

*These optional values control how varying product order sizes are routed to the most appropriate vehicle(s) in your fleet*

* **Payload (Minimum)** = constrain Vehicle selection on the low end, by weight
* **Volume (Minimum)** = constrain Vehicle selection on the low end, by volume
* **Volume (Maximum)** = total carrying capacity (lightweight materials), in Cubic Yards

{% hint style="info" %}
For sophisticated fleets with graduated capacities where it's often more expensive to run larger rigs, Payload and Volume *Minimums* constrain Vehicle selection on the low end (i.e. a floor, as opposed to ceiling). Vehicle isn't deployed unless weight or volume is at least X lbs. or Y cubic yards.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### Available Days

Unselect any days the vehicle is not available to the operation

### Images

Drag & drop photos of your rig

### Scheduled Downtime

{% hint style="success" %}
Once you’ve entered your Vehicle’s information, click **Create** at bottom right, which will enable this vehicle in the system. Enter as many vehicles as you want to run in order to maximize your fleet’s earning potential.
{% endhint %}

# General Settings

View and update your store details.

### Account Information

General account configuration information. Enter or edit your **Account Name** and **Subdomain** as needed. Your subdomain is the address to which customers will be re-direct once they've initiated the purchasing process from your website. The actual transaction takes place on your BDP subdomain.&#x20;

### Primary Contact

Enter the first and last name of the principal owner of the account.&#x20;

**Primary Email Address-** this email address will be used to send receipts to your customers. This address cannot be a "public" address (Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) and must use your company's domain. Once entered, click "Save" to send a verification email to this address from [Postmark](https://postmarkapp.com/). Follow the email prompt to confirm the email as valid for sending order confirmations (receipts).&#x20;

### Company Information

Provide general company contact information, including **website, phone, address & timezone**.&#x20;

**Google Delivery Area** refers to an optional Google Merchant Center field that specifies delivery areas based on zip code.  See [Google's Documentation](https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324484) and/or [Contact BDP Support](mailto:support@bulkdelivery.pro) for more information.&#x20;

### Sharing

Enable **Customer Referrals** if you'd like your business to be listed as a delivery option for another BDP tenant. A link to your business will appear if another BDP Tenant also has this setting enabled AND a customer's address falls within one of your zones (but outside theirs).

* *Customer Referrals turned off*- if a customer tries to order from your BDP catalog, but their address is outside your delivery zones, they'll be re-directed to your Contact Page to inquire whether other delivery options exist (such as a custom [Estimate](/estimates/estimates)).
* *Customer Referrals turned on*- in the same scenario described above, if the customer's address falls within another BDP tenant's delivery zones (and they also have referrals enabled), it will re-direct the customer to visit that neighboring BDP tenant's catalog. Your company would be provided the same courtesy should the situation be reversed.&#x20;

# Delivery Zones & Pricing

Customize your delivery area so BDP can automatically charge the appropriate delivery fee

{% @supademo/embed demoId="RvJS9nyXltyXUN6SHX5KG" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/RvJS9nyXltyXUN6SHX5KG>" %}

In **Settings,** select **Delivery Zones & Pricing**

* Click "Create Delivery Zone"
* Enter your \[City, State] to bring up a satellite map of your area
* Click around to set points and draw a rough shape, zoom in & out as needed. Drag nodes to adjust shape and configure boundaries.
* Enter Zone Name- consider "Base," "town name," or "town name + Base" for your first delivery zone, but do not actually include the word "Zone" due to BDP's default language&#x20;
* Set the Price (delivery fee)
* Enter a "Time Multiplier," see note below
* Select a color and click "Create Zone" to finalize
* When creating your next zone, select previously-drawn zones in the "Zone Drawing Reference" box, whose outlines will appear on the map for reference&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
**Time Multiplier** indicates average expected drive-time in a given zone. This is based off average roundtrip drive-time in your Base Zone, as determined by [Delivery Slots](/settings/delivery-slots).&#x20;

Start simple- use a Time Multiplier of "1" for your "Base" Zone, allotting 1 hour roundtrip (on average) for deliveries (1x = 1 hour). If deliveries take 1hr roundtrip (on average) in the Base Zone, but 1.5hrs in your 2nd zone, Time Multiplier in Zone 2 would be 1.5x.
{% endhint %}

# Appearance

BDP works behind the scenes and lets your brand shine at every turn

## Logos & Imagery

*Upload your logos & imagery in the following formats to create a seamless brand experience for your customers and your internal team:*

* **Primary Logo-** this image will look & work best if it has a landscape orientation (wider than it is tall) and has a transparent background (PNG). It is used on your login screen as well as in the header of the email notifications to your customers.
* **Profile Image (square)-** upload your profile image as a square but know that it will be cropped into a circle. It should have a minimum resolution of 300 x 300. It is used at the top of your Admin screens and your catalog/product pages.
* **Favicon (\*.ico)-** upload your "favicon" (.ico) file here to customize the small icon that appears in a browser window/tab.
* **App Icon-** upload a custom 512px (square) App Shortcut Icon in PNG format.

## Catalog Layout

*Configure display settings to customize the look & feel of your public-facing e-commerce pages*

**Name/Logo Link-** if you would like your name/logo to link back to a custom URL, enter that address here. Otherwise, the name/logo will link to the catalog landing page.

**Contact Link/Email-** enter a URL (or email address) to direct customers for any "Contact" inquires. This will also be shown by default if a Product is not available (out of stock).

**Catalog Display-** control what visitors see when they view your Catalog landing page. Display options:

* *Full Catalog*- all products displayed together on the main catalog page, arranged in the order they appear on your Products inventory.
* *Full Catalog, Organized by Categories-* associate each of your products with a Category. All products appear on the main catalog page, organized under their respective Category heading. Clicking each heading navigates to that Category-specific page. &#x20;
* *Category Links- a*ssociate each of your products with a Category and upload a "Cover Image." This format displays a slick landing page featuring all your Categories with representative photo. Clicking each image navigates to that Category-specific page. &#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/dEIn1mIjSGlQhjZZVLwP" alt="" width="563"><figcaption><p>Category Links</p></figcaption></figure>

**Catalog Heading Text** and **Catalog Subheading Text-** enter custom text that will appear atop your catalog page

Choose **Colors** for designated areas of your Catalog's appearance, perhaps bringing in the dominant colors of your company's branding&#x20;

**Standard Text Font** & **Header Text Font (BETA)**

This experimental feature allows you to include a custom (SSL) font URL that can be used to customize the display of your BDP-generated pages. &#x20;

*Realistically, it would probably be best to* [*Contact BDP Support*](mailto:support@bulkdelivery.pro) *to see if this feature makes sense to use for your company or not.*

**Footer Text-** brief description for your profile. URLs are hyperlinked.

**Customize Cart Address Placeholder Text-** once customer selects product & volume (for delivery) and clicks "Schedule Delivery," they are then prompted for their delivery address. Before populated, the blank field contains a default message which reads: "Enter delivery address..."&#x20;

You are welcome to customize this field, for example:

<figure><img src="/files/joy8keQGdl2Z2i2ujAkl" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Enter your Social Media Page URLs **(Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram)** to include clickable social icons in the Footer

# Stripe Connection

BDP connects with Stripe Payment Processing to get you paid for your online orders

In order to accept orders, BDP needs to connect a [Stripe](https://stripe.com/) account-

* When setting up/connecting your Stripe account, you'll need some basic company information as well as online banking credentials
* From within BDP, click **"Create a New Stripe Account"** or **"Connect Existing Stripe Account"** and walk through the steps to completion
* Due to the secure nature of linking a payments account, complete this process from start to finish in one session, otherwise it may need to be reset
* Once connected, jump to [Sales Tax](/settings/payment-tax-and-disclaimers/sales-tax) to set up within Stripe if you live in a state that collects

{% hint style="danger" %}
\*\*NOTE: Stripe collects 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
{% endhint %}

{% embed url="<https://stripe.com/>" %}

# Stripe Coupons

Use Promo Codes for sales & discounts, discreet pricing tiers, charitable donations, & more

At checkout, customers have the option to "Add Promotional Code" if they have one.  A Promo Code is the actual text code they'll enter that triggers a specific discount, which you've predetermined by building corresponding Stripe Coupons in the background. Give discounts by percentage or finite amount, set duration/expiration, create one-time or re-useable codes, & more. Stripe Coupons and Promo Codes are a great way to step up your marketing & advertising game.&#x20;

* Make sure to **Enable Promo Codes** in BDP once you've created a Stripe Coupon

{% @supademo/embed demoId="Z8DiR6M9Q1zEFEYpBthY5" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/Z8DiR6M9Q1zEFEYpBthY5>" %}

### Applying a Promo Code via URL Parameter

Stripe Promo Codes can always be applied to the Checkout Page.  They can also be applied via a URL parameter that can be attached to a button, QR Code, or link that can be shared.&#x20;

**The syntax for creating a promo code URL is:**

https\://**`yoursubdomain`**.bulkdelivery.app/product/**`product-name`**?promo=**`STRIPECODE`**

"yoursubdomain" = Your BDP Subdomain\
"product-name" = Product Slug\
"STRIPECODE" = Promo code, created at Stripe

Following a link with a promo code will connect that code to the customer's cart as they continue placing their order. The appropriate discount will be applied on the Checkout screen assuming that what is purchased meets the criteria of the promo code.&#x20;

# Sales Tax

BDP works with Stripe to solve the jigsaw puzzle that is Sales Tax collection in the United States

If you live in a state where Sales Tax is collected, BDP connects with [Stripe](https://stripe.com/) to simplify the process and capture the appropriate tax. Refer to Stripe's documentation to "Set up Stripe Tax" within your account:

{% embed url="<https://stripe.com/docs/tax/set-up>" fullWidth="false" %}

&#x20;Once you have Set Up Stripe Tax, switch on **Enable Sales Tax** within BDP

* *\*\*FYI - a small test transaction will be sent & cancelled in order to test back-end sales tax functionality when enabling*
* Once Sales Tax is enabled, you'll select your **Default Material Tax Category** and determine whether you need to distinguish between material and **Separate Delivery Tax**
* Once Sales Tax is enabled, refer to your [Products](/products/products) inventory where a field for **Sales Tax Code** will now be exposed. This gives you the option to attach a specific Sales Tax Code to each Product, including coding items as *Nontaxable* where appropriate.&#x20;
* Watch as Sales Tax is collected effortlessly, appearing as a separate line item for the customer at checkout

# Point of Sale

BDP's point of sale functionality includes physical terminal integrations, making it possible to accept in-person payments.

**BDP Integration with Stripe Locations and Terminal**

BDP utilizes Stripe's Locations and Terminal features to facilitate seamless in-person credit card transactions. This integration enables efficient and secure sales processing directly through physical card payments, enhancing the overall sales experience and unlocking lower transaction fees.

### Prerequisites

* A Stripe Account connected to BDP
* A compatible Stripe Reader
  * [Stripe Reader S710](https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/setup-reader/stripe-reader-s700-s710)
  * [Stripe Reader S700](https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/setup-reader/stripe-reader-s700-s710)
  * [BBPOS WisePOS E](https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/payments/setup-reader/bbpos-wisepos-e)

### Step 1: Add your Location

Use the link below to add a Location for your business, one in which you will associate your specific card readers

{% embed url="<https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/fleet/locations-and-zones>" %}

### Step 2: Register your Reader(s)

Once you have a location, you'll want to connect your compatible Stripe Reader(s)

{% embed url="<https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/fleet/register-readers>" %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Note that you'll want to use the "Registration Code" method to register your reader to your location.
{% endhint %}

### Step 3: Select your registered terminal inside BDP

Registered terminals will appear in your BDP "Payment, Tax & Disclaimers" settings screen.  Enabling a terminal here will make it possible to accept in-person payments (via your physical terminal) as an additional option alongside "Finish & Pay", for admin-generated orders.&#x20;

# Accounting

Accounting Settings to keep the books in order

Set your **Next Order Number** and **Next Estimate Number.**

By default, these numbers count from #0001, but if you're replacing a legacy PO book or prefer your business to appear more well-established, enter whatever starting number you prefer (minimum 4 digits).&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
\*\*HINT: if nothing else, you might consider starting at #1001 instead of #0001
{% endhint %}

BDP was built to easily integrate with Quickbooks accounting software, both desktop and online versions. BDP is not designed to replace any of your existing accounting software. Automatic syncing may require the use of additional tools, [contact BDP Support](mailto:support@bulkdelivery.pro) for more information. \
\
Stripe + Quickbooks Online Sync Options:

* [Acodei](https://www.acodei.com/)
* [PayTraQer](https://www.paytraqer.com/integrations/stripe-quickbooks-integration/)
* [Quickbooks Stripe Connector](https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/appdetails/stripeconnector/en-us/)\
  \

{% embed url="<https://squareup.com/us/en/point-of-sale/features/inventory-management>" %}

# Checkout Disclaimers

Customers agree to your custom Disclaimer before finalizing their order

Disclose to purchasing customers any terms & conditions, provisos or protocols of your operation immediately prior to checkout. Customer is required to check a box next to each disclaimer, indicating they have read and signifying their compliance with each disclosure.&#x20;

Click "**Add Disclaime**r" to enter content and then click "Save"

{% hint style="info" %}
\*\*HINT: If you have a long list of disclaimers, consider enumerating them separately on your [Terms & Conditions](/settings/messaging#privacy-policy-and-terms-and-conditions) page and condensing the Disclaimer. For example, “I have read & agree to (Company Name)'s Terms & Conditions," hyperlinking directly to your Terms documentation.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

**Sample Disclaimers**

* [ ] I agree to receiving limited text message (SMS) updates regarding my delivery.
* [ ] I understand that providing specific onsite dump instructions or signs is VERY helpful. There are extreme risks associated with driving a loaded dump truck across lawns, landscapes or other irrigated areas to reach a dump point and I know that it is (Company Name)'s policy to never leave a paved/packed driving surface. I promise not to ask the driver to make an exception if they do not feel comfortable with my chosen dump spot.
* [ ] I understand that I do not need to be present for my delivery & that my selected time slot is approximate. I'm aware that I will get a text message when my material is being loaded up. I am also aware that same-day changes to orders may not be possible and that same-day delivery cancellations are subject to a cancellation/restocking fee.
* [ ] I have read & agree to (Company Name)'s Terms & Conditions & Privacy Policy.&#x20;

# Service Fee

BulkDelivery PRO includes an optional "Service Fee" feature that, when enabled, automatically calculates and displays a Service Fee as part of the customer’s order total at checkout.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Laws and regulations related to fees and surcharges can vary by state and locality. BulkDelivery PRO provides this feature as a configurable tool, but does not provide legal, tax, or compliance guidance. Merchants are responsible for determining how and whether to use this feature in accordance with applicable laws and card network rules.
{% endhint %}

### How the Service Fee Works

When the Service Fee is enabled:

* A fee labeled **“Service Fee”** is calculated as a percentage of the order total.
* The calculated amount is added to the customer’s order and included in the final total.
* The Service Fee is shown separately from product costs, delivery fees, and taxes.

The Service Fee label is fixed and cannot be renamed. This is intentional to ensure consistency and clarity in how the fee is presented to customers.

### Configuration Options

The Service Fee feature includes four configuration settings:

#### 1. Include Service Fee

This setting turns the Service Fee on or off.

* **Enabled:** The Service Fee will be calculated and applied to eligible orders.
* **Disabled:** No Service Fee will be added to orders.

#### 2. Service Fee Percentage

This value determines how much of the order total is added as a Service Fee.

* The percentage is applied to the order subtotal at checkout.
* The calculated amount is shown as a separate line item labeled "*Service Fee"*.

#### 3. Service Fee Cap (Optional)

The Service Fee Cap allows you to set a maximum amount that can be added as a Service Fee.

* If a cap is set, the Service Fee will not exceed this amount, even if the percentage-based calculation would otherwise be higher.
* If left blank, no maximum is applied.

#### 4. Service Fee Description (Optional)

This field controls whether additional context is shown to the purchaser earlier in the checkout process.

* **If text is entered:**\
  The description will appear on the **Cart** screen, notifying the purchaser that a Service Fee will be applied before they proceed to checkout.
* **If left blank (default):**\
  The Service Fee will only appear on the **Checkout** screen as a line item, without additional explanation.

This allows merchants to control when and how the fee is disclosed during the ordering flow.

### Visibility to Customers

Depending on how the feature is configured:

* The Service Fee may be visible on the Cart screen (if a description is provided).
* The Service Fee will always be visible on the Checkout screen when enabled.
* The fee is clearly labeled and included in the final order total.

### General Use Considerations

The Service Fee feature is often used in situations where merchants want to apply a consistent, percentage-based fee to online orders, including cases where payment processing or platform-related costs are incurred. BulkDelivery PRO does not enforce how the fee is calculated beyond the configured settings, and does not restrict how the resulting revenue is accounted for by the merchant.

# Calendar & Availability

Customize your delivery calendar settings & upcoming holidays.

### Availability Settings

* Enter **Number of days available for booking** to set how far in the future customers can book deliveries. For example, "30" days allows customers to book delivery one month out.&#x20;
* **Show Only Available Slots** removes booked slots from the time slot selection screen. Leave this toggled off to show both available slots (green) and fully booked slots (red).&#x20;
* **Enable Only First Slots** to front-load the day's deliveries and maximize order volume. Later slots become available only when earlier ones are filled. Leave this toggled off to let customers choose any slot throughout the day.&#x20;
* Turn on **Same Day Ordering** if you allow customers to order for same-day delivery when slots are available. [Same-Days](/delivery-orders/driver-dashboard#same-day-ordering) can be manually shut off each day on the Driver Dashboard.&#x20;

### Next Delivery

Need to hit pause on the operation until a certain date? Enter a "Next Delivery" date to block (show unavailable) delivery slots earlier than the specified date.&#x20;

### Blocked Slots

Want to block a particular slot across the whole operation for one reason or another? Simply select from the drop-down list to block (show unavailable) any individual time slots.

### Upcoming Holidays

Select the upcoming Holidays when your business will be closed, blocking full days at a time.&#x20;

### Closure Seasons

Create blocks of time to disable your business. Leaving this setting empty means that your business runs year-round.

# Pick Up Orders

Enable & manage online, pre-paid orders for customer pick up

Do you load customer or contractor vehicles at your yard? Enabling **Pick Up Orders** allows them to pre-pay online, then cruise in & out of your yard to scoop their product. Pick Up Orders filter to the [Loader Dashboard](/pick-up-orders/loader-dashboard) for fulfillment.&#x20;

**Enable Pick Up** to leverage this service and expose all pertinent features within BDP, including Loader Dashboard, Pick Up Pricing, and Pick Up Messaging. If using BDP for delivery only, toggling off hides these features.&#x20;

Enter a **Pick Up Location** (optional) if you've elected to utilize BDP's Inventory Tracking feature.&#x20;

Set an **Order Expiration in Days** (optional)**.** While customer don't need to schedule a Pick Up as they would a Delivery, you can set an "Expiration" so that forgotten orders don't crowd up the Loader Dashboard ("expired" Pick Up Orders can always be found in the [Orders](/orders/orders) archive).

# Notifications

Manage notifications sent to you and your customers

### **Twilio Account**

Use a Twilio account to send custom [SMS Text Notifications](/pro-tips/customer-sms-notifications) to your customers. [BDP Support](https://bulkdelivery.pro/support/) is available to assist with [Twilio Setup](/pro-tips/customer-sms-notifications#twilio-setup). Once Twilio setup is complete, integrate with BDP by entering your **Twilio SID**, **Twilio Token**, and **Twilio Phone Number** which can be found on the Twilio Console.

### Messages

In **New Order Email Notification**, enter any email address to which you'd like BDP to automatically send notification of each new online order. Separate by comma.&#x20;

If you've chosen to leverage BDP's SMS Notifications feature and you want to bolster your online ratings, enter your **Google Review Link** and/or **Facebook Review Link** to include tidy, convenient links embedded into your 'Thank You + Review Request' text message. Learn how to find those links, and discover more about [Getting Online Reviews.](/pro-tips/getting-online-reviews)

# Delivery Slots

Build your weekly delivery scheduling rules

{% @supademo/embed demoId="8bL3gpzaN2Y5X8paFD1Jv" url="<https://app.supademo.com/demo/8bL3gpzaN2Y5X8paFD1Jv>" %}

In **Settings > Delivery Slots**, click **Create Time Slot**. Here let's answer a few questions:

* What time will you start deliveries in the morning, and what length time window will you present to customers? Is it two-hour windows starting 8:00am - 10:00am? Or maybe you want to start by having just a "morning" and an "afternoon" slot, and so choose 4 hour blocks before and after noon.
* On which days of the week will this slot apply? Monday - Friday? Maybe you run on weekends, or make a few deliveries just on Saturday mornings. Select each day you want this slot available.&#x20;
* Within your chosen time window, how many deliveries will a driver be able to do, on average, in your Base Zone? If average delivery time in your base zone is 1 hour and your time window is 2 hours (8:00am - 10:00am, for example), your Loads Per Vehicle is 2. If average delivery time in your base zone is 45 minutes and your time window is 3 hours (8:00am-11:00am, for instance) your Loads Per Vehicle would be 4.&#x20;
* For which Vehicles in your fleet will this time slot apply? Leave "Apply to All Vehicles" selected if the whole fleet will be enabled with the same time slots. Choose specific Vehicle(s) if building a time slot for specific rigs.
* Click Save to enable this intelligent time slot.
* Click "Edit" to label with a custom slot name. Click the cog icon to reconfigure slot settings.&#x20;
* Disable or "hide" a slot as needed. For example, if you only occasionally want weekend slots enabled, or you have seasonal availability- turn slots on & off as the operation allows.&#x20;

# Messaging

Custom blurbs seen at time of purchase make for a smooth & transparent customer experience

### Delivery Messaging

This message will appear on your public catalog product pages, just above the volume options for Delivery. By default, the Delivery blurb reads:

> "*Prices include delivery to all addresses in the **@baseZoneName** zone. Additional delivery fees apply to extended zones."*&#x20;

*\***@baseZoneName*** populates with the name given to your first created delivery zone, and customers can "View Delivery Zones" in a pop-up window by clicking the link. \*HINT: do not actually include the word "Zone" when naming your first delivery area.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/lioXh5plk2PZLcYFNFkx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Pick Up Messaging

*\*only appears if Pick Up Orders are enabled within **Settings**.*

This message will appear on your public catalog product pages, just above the volume options for Pick Up. By default, the Pick Up blurb reads:

"*Order now to reserve this product for pick up at our location. Your purchase will be transmitted to our staff who will facilitate loading your vehicle when you arrive."* For example:

<figure><img src="/files/Lw3ruElL7Pe4aTeMOrsH" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Pick Up Order Instructions.** Below published price is a hyperlink for "Pick Up Details."&#x20;

Here is a good opportunity to provide customers with detailed instructions on how to successfully pick up their material. For example- yard location, hours of operation, and procedural protocol for pick up. Within BDP, either enter messaging directly or link to an External Instructions Page URL back on your website.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions

Including a **Privacy Policy** and your company's **Terms & Condition**s on your e-commerce platform is always good practice, particularly when soliciting customer information and capturing credit card payments.

* Within BDP, either enter content directly or link to an external URL, if for instance you already have these pages on your website.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
\*\*HINT: use these pages to enumerate operational rules & procedures, and then create a single [Checkout Disclaimer](/settings/payment-tax-and-disclaimers/checkout-disclaimers) that reads "I have read & agree to (Company Name)'s *Terms & Conditions* and *Privacy Policy,"* hyperlinking to the documentation.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
\*\*NOTE: Both *Privacy Policy* and *Terms & Conditions* are ***required*** to implement the SMS Notifications feature via Twilio. Within the United States, [A2P 10DLC campaign registration](/pro-tips/customer-sms-notifications#a2p-10dlc-registration) now requires these transparency measures.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

# Billing & Credits

### [Billing](/settings/billing-and-credits/billing)

### [Credits & Usage](/settings/billing-and-credits/credits-and-usage)

### [Alternative Payments](/settings/billing-and-credits/alternative-payments)

# Billing

Payment method details, billing information and invoice history are all powered by Stripe. You can view and manage all of this information on the page linked from within BDP's Settings.

Click “Configure Billing” to be redirected to a Stripe interface where you can manage your Billing Settings for payments made to BDP.&#x20;

Here, you’ll be able to Add a Payment Method (credit card securely stored with Stripe), manage your Billing information, and see a record of your invoice history.&#x20;

Payment receipts will be emailed to the email address configured in this section.

<br>

# Credits & Usage

Fund your BDP account to unlock increased internal functionality

Credits are used to accept Alternative Payment methods when utilizing the BDP platform

Credits are purchased in advance, with a credit card on file (see Billing) and the option to Auto-Recharge (see below). Credits are then deducted from the Credit Balance at the time of transaction.&#x20;

Click “Purchase Credits” to select an amount for purchase.

{% hint style="info" %}
BDP's usage fee of 2.5% applies for internal activity, taken per-order in deducted credits, as a percentage of total order value (pre-tax), just like online ordering.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

Credit-based fees are “capped” at $25 for internal activity. This means that, for orders of $1,000 or more, all marginal dollars above that value go "fee-free," encouraging wholesale, contractor, and semi-truck load activity.&#x20;

$25.00 is the max any single order can be charged (if an order is valued at $1,000 or any amount above).&#x20;

Below that, it will be assessed at 2.5% of the order value.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
A minimum fee of $2.50 is also assessed to discourage data manipulation and false $0.00 order entries.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

**Here are some examples for reference:**

* Order Value entered as $0.00; BDP fee = $2.50
* Order Value of $100; BDP fee = $2.50
* Order Value of $370.00; BDP fee = $9.25
* Order Value of $1,000; BDP fee = $25.00
* Order Value of $4,500.00; BDP fee = $25.00

When credits are purchased, you will not incur any Stripe fee for purchasing credits from BDP. If you load your BDP account with $100 in credits, you will have $100 in credits to utilize.&#x20;

Unused credits will be forfeit; BDP does not refund credit purchases.&#x20;

These credit purchases are separate, standalone transactions apart from the typical Stripe payout deposits made from inbound revenue activity. Payment for credits is not deducted from Stripe payouts.&#x20;

If Credit Balance goes to zero, options for Alternative Payment methods are disabled/removed- only "card-not-present" or "card-present" transactions would then be allowed (and would revert to collecting standard commission fee & credit card fee). This would have no impact on end-users, only the Admin functionality.

Click ‘Usage Report” to see a breakdown history of credit purchases and itemized use.&#x20;

### Auto-Recharge

Enable this setting if you want to automatically recharge your credit balance. If your current balance falls below $25, this will trigger a charge to your card.

Once you’ve confirmed Auto-Recharge, you’ll be prompted to select the additional amount you’d like to be charged to your saved card once your credit balance drops below $25.

<br>

<br>

# Alternative Payments

Utilize BDP’s backend while taking cash, check, COD, deferred payment, and (coming soon) invoicing on-account.

Admin-level Users can place orders within BDP and bypass the credit card checkout screen, if selecting instead an “alternative payment” method (cash, check, COD, deferred payment otherwise, for example).

{% hint style="info" %}
This functionality requires a credit card to activate. You will not see Alternative Payment options until you have added a payment method. Navigate to (Settings / Billing) to enter payment info. Then, the system will present more payment options when finalizing an Order from the Admin side.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

If Creating and Order from the Admin side, Users will be presented with the following options:

1. Collect CC Payment Now (for a Stripe payment at checkout)\
   *This method requires a follow-on selection below: “Credit Card Not Present” for manual card entry or “Credit Card Present” for tap-to-pay (see BDP Point of Sale for more info)*
2. Other Payment Method (for cash, check, or any non-Stripe payment terminal)\
   *This method allows an optional Payment Note to be included below (for example, “paid cash” or “paid with check #1001”)*
3. Create Order\
   \- *Payment Due (deferred payment to be collected in the future)*\
   *- This method allows an optional Admin Note to be included below (for example, “agreed to cash on delivery”)*\
   *- Stay tuned for more info on Invoicing in a forthcoming release!*
4. No Customer Charge (for true internal or comped orders, where no money is exchanged)\
   *- This method requires a follow-on selection below: “Comped ($0.00)” if you’re not charging a customer, or “Internal” for company orders or tasks (soil being transferred from nursery yard to in-house landscaping jobsite)*

{% hint style="info" %}
A Stripe credit card fee will not apply for methods where no credit card is used at checkout.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
If Credit Balance goes to zero, options for Alternative Payment methods are disabled/removed - only "card-not-present" or "card-present" transactions would then be allowed (and would revert to collecting standard commission fee & credit card fee). This would have no impact on end-users, only the Admin functionality.
{% endhint %}

# Sandbox

This feature allows you to clone your BDP account, creating a "Sandbox" clone that can be used to test out ordering, zones, schedule, availability, appearance, etc.

# Analytics

Features and settings that provide insight into event and page tracking on BDP-generated pages.

### [Conversion Tracking](/settings/analytics/conversion-tracking)

# Conversion Tracking

BDP's tools can help your team better understand how well your marketing campaigns are converting into completed sales

Enter a **Conversion Tracking URL** on the Payment, Tax & Disclaimers settings page of your BDP account.

After an order is placed, the customer will be returned to your chosen URL with a "data" parameter appended. &#x20;

### Example URL:

<https://www.yourdomain.com/your-order-complete-page/?data=%7B%22orderTotal%22%3AXXX%2C%22transactionId%22%3A%22XXXX%22%2C%22receiptUrl%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fyouraccount.bulkdelivery.app%2Forder%2FXXXX%2FXXXX22%22%7D>

*This "data" is an encoded JSON object that includes the following information:*

### Encoded JSON Object:

{% code lineNumbers="true" %}

```
{
    "orderTotal":XXX,
    "transactionId":"XXXX",
    "receiptUrl":"https://youraccount.bulkdelivery.app/order/XXXX/XXXX"
}
```

{% endcode %}

You, or your developer, can parse the URL 'data' parameter, decode the data, and then use this information to provide conversion tracking details in the platform of your choosing.

Please [Contact BDP Support](mailto:support@bulkdelivery.pro) if you have any remaining questions, or need more information.&#x20;

# Connect Your Website

Add hyperlink buttons to your website so customers can \[Order Now!]

*Customers initiate the ordering process by clicking one of several order "buttons" on your website which link to BDP. Consult with your web developer on building these buttons, considering wording and layout. In general, more buttons means more opportunities to turn website visitors into purchasing customers. We recommend making it easy for folks- include a button on your landing page and any page headers. There are generally 3 types to consider:*

### Global Catalog Button

The simplest option is an overall "Schedule Delivery" or "Order Bulk Materials"-type button that appears prominently on your home page, or atop a Bulk Landscape Materials page. This will link to your entire BDP Catalog.&#x20;

### Category Buttons

"Order Mulch" or "Shop Soils" type buttons that link to a specific category of material. If you organize products on your website by category (for example: Mulch & Bark, Decorative Rock, Sand & Aggregate, Soil & Compost, etc.), each with its own detailed page or heading, you may want to include a category button up top.&#x20;

If utilizing Category Buttons, make sure your BDP Catalog is also displayed by Category- go to ([Settings > Appearance > Catalog Layout > Catalog Display](/settings/appearance#catalog-layout)) and select "Full Catalog, organized by categories" or "Category Links."

### Product Buttons&#x20;

Product-specific buttons link from a product image/description on your website directly to that same product's BDP page for purchase. If you already list your entire product offering on your website, simply add "Order Now" below each product listing to facilitate purchase.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/UIHiEkwwoS6xdRfjEc0O" alt=""><figcaption><p>Product Buttons sample</p></figcaption></figure>

# Delivery Zone Map

It's cool to be able to create your custom delivery zones with BDP, but people need to be able to see the assembled map! For this reason we created a separate page that shows just your delivery zones.

This is fully embeddable (via \<iframe> code) or you can simply link to it. If embedded, it is limited to being displayed on just your own domain name that was entered into your Settings.

#### Example URL

```
https://[your-subdomain-here].bulkdelivery.app/delivery-zone-map
```

{% hint style="info" %}
If you add "`?scroll=false`" to then end of the URL, this will prevent the map from being "scrollable" when embedded into your page. The experience is often much better for your users this way!
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/uz3keZq6TJS7cAIsremU" alt=""><figcaption><p>Embed Delivery Zones map onto your website</p></figcaption></figure>

# Volume Calculator

Here at BDP, we are constantly on the prowl for the best way to answer the question of, "How much is a yard?" Until the perfect answer is found, we've got a calculator for you to use!

This is fully embeddable (via \<iframe> code) or you can simply link to it. If embedded, it is limited to being displayed on just your own domain name that was entered into your Settings.

### Example URL

```
https://[your-subdomain-here].bulkdelivery.app/bulk-material-calculator
```

# Customer SMS Notifications

Easily Send 'Loading Up' & 'Thank You' Text Messages!

## Twilio Integration- How it Works

If you’ve ever scheduled an appointment online, ordered food or a rideshare through an app- you’ll probably be familiar with SMS Notifications. BDP integrates with [Twilio](https://www.twilio.com/), allowing Drivers to easily send customers text notifications of their Order status with a simple click:&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/SbpXSr62fwV5NEycOGZC" alt=""><figcaption><p>Order Status Buttons Double as One-Click Customer Communication</p></figcaption></figure>

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/UhggB8M7xeH7WGYBBjWU" alt="" width="361"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

1. Driver clicks “Delivering” to prompt a message to the customer notifying that they're loading up and will be on the way shortly. The Order Log will author & timestamp this event. Later,
2. Driver clicks “Complete” upon successful delivery. This indicates to the system that the Order is in fact Complete, and the Order Log will author & timestamp it as such. Plus, it’s at this moment that the Driver will be prompted with a choice:

<figure><img src="/files/ZEMKDULGgc1mcFJMAqNv" alt=""><figcaption><p>Capture 5-Star Online Reviews</p></figcaption></figure>

BDP can trigger a follow-up message thanking the customer for their business, and inviting them to [leave an online review](/pro-tips/getting-online-reviews), should they feel inclined. These Customer Notifications have proved to be a versatile feature. Operationally, it automates your communication and stabilizes a point of contact. The customer feels informed and secure when updated that heavy machinery is on its way and their large, bulky (often heavy, expensive) material will unload at their delivery address shortly. They are made to feel a part of the logistics operation! Also, this little advanced warning often helps make the Driver’s job easier & swifter upon arrival- reminding customer to move their car, or set out that tarp...

Plus, customers *really* appreciate it. From a customer service perspective, simple and effective communication is a BIG deal. BDP gently offers them the opportunity to share their appreciation by sending a "Review Request" at the exact moment they’re most likely to do so- immediately following another successful dump. These Thank You/Review Request SMS Messages drastically improve the likelihood that a satisfied customer actually takes the time to write a glowing review. Don’t be surprised if it’s this very feature (SMS Notifications) that they rave about.

So let’s get you set up with a local phone number to streamline customer communication!

## Twilio Setup

Go to [twilio.com](https://www.twilio.com/) and click ‘Start for Free’ to create your account. See Twilio's [Pricing](https://www.twilio.com/sms/pricing/us).&#x20;

* Follow the prompts to get logged in, here are some hints:&#x20;
  * What do you plan to build today? *Alerts & Notifications*
  * Which Twilio product are you here to use? *SMS Notifications*
  * You'll also select *Business*, then *Direct Brand*
  * You are likely *not* exempt from telecom tax&#x20;
  * How do you want to build with Twilio? *No Code*
  * What is your goal today? *3rd Party Integration*
* Once you've arrived at the Console, at top right click "Account," and select "General Settings." Change the name of your account from 'My First Twilio Account' to your company's name.
* Configure your Console. In the left menu bar click "Explore Products." Scroll through and "pin" the following tools: Messaging, Phone Numbers, and Studio.
* Back on the Console, click 'Upgrade' at top. Here you'll walk through the steps to fund your account by putting a credit card on file. We recommend starting with $20-$100, and then enabling auto-replenish when it drops to $10.

Next, secure a local phone number. Navigate to Phone Numbers > Buy a Number.

<figure><img src="/files/Q4cTCou5zmoZyOsYieMk" alt=""><figcaption><p>Find a Local Phone #</p></figcaption></figure>

In "Search criteria," enter your local Area Code & click "Search." Look for a phone number in (or close to) the same town as your business location. Once you’ve found a solid candidate, click “Buy It.”&#x20;

## A2P 10DLC Registration

{% hint style="danger" %}
*A2P (Application to Person) 10DLC (10 digit long code) is the standard that United States telecom carriers have put in place to ensure that SMS traffic to US end-users through long code phone numbers is verified and consensual.*
{% endhint %}

{% embed url="<https://www.twilio.com/docs/messaging/compliance/a2p-10dlc>" %}

Within Twilio, you'll need to:

1. [Create a Twilio Primary Business Profile in Twilio's Console](https://www.twilio.com/docs/messaging/compliance/a2p-10dlc/direct-standard-onboarding#1-create-a-twilio-business-profile-in-trust-hub)
2. [Register a US A2P Brand](https://www.twilio.com/docs/messaging/compliance/a2p-10dlc/direct-standard-onboarding#2-register-your-us-a2p-brand)
3. [Register a new Campaign use case and link to a Messaging Service with your 10DLC phone numbers](https://www.twilio.com/docs/messaging/compliance/a2p-10dlc/direct-standard-onboarding#3-register-your-campaign-use-cases)

[Contact BDP Support](mailto:support@bulkdelivery.pro) for assistance with A2P 10DLC Registration

## Connect to BDP

Toward the bottom of your Twilio console, find **Account Info**. Specifically you’re looking for:&#x20;

* Account SID
* Auth Token
* My Twilio Phone Number

In a new tab, open your BDP account and navigate to [Settings > Notifications > Twilio Account](/settings/notifications#twilio-account). Copy & paste the above account info in the matching fields & click "Save." Now you’re ready to "Test Twilio." Enter your own phone number to check if it’s connected & ready to go- you should receive a text greeting, "Hello from (your company name)!" sent by your newly configured phone number.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/pix3v8ga5H3Tep6MA4oZ" alt=""><figcaption><p>Connect to BDP and Text Notifications are Enabled !</p></figcaption></figure>

***Advanced:** If you are interested in setting up an* [*Autoresponse*](/pro-tips/customer-sms-notifications/twilio-autoresponse) *in the event of inbound texts to your new phone number,* [*contact BDP Support*](mailto:support@bulkdelivery.pro) *to help you set up an Autoresponse Flow within Twilio.*&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
\*NOTE: these SMS Notification are meant to be *outbound only,* and you do not need to monitor your new number for back-and-forth customer communication. In the event a customer responds via text to one of these Notifications, an Autoresponse would direct them to contact your business telephone line directly.
{% endhint %}

# Twilio Autoresponse

Automated SMS Notifications keep your communication channels clear

*BDP's Customer Notification texts are designed to be outbound only. However, in the event that a customer responds to the driver's "Loading Up" text with a 👍 or "I'll be home in 5," a Twilio Autoresponse Flow will be your back stop. This Flow will:*

1. Respond back notifying the customer that the phone is not monitored for inbound messages, and instructing them to call your company directly if they need to make contact regarding the order
2. Forward the body of the initial inbound message to a designated Admin's phone so that you capture any/all inbound information, even if redundant after instructing the customer to call

[*Contact BDP Support*](mailto:support@bulkdelivery.pro) *and we’ll help you set up a standard Autoresponse Flow within Twilio*

Or, Consult Twilio's tutorial on building a custom Auto-Responder of your own:

{% embed url="<https://www.twilio.com/docs/studio/tutorials/how-to-set-up-auto-responder>" %}

# Phone App

Click your brand's logo on your smartphone home screen & be logged in to your BDP account

*Technically, BDP is available as a "Progressive Web App (PWA)," not a "Native App" like you may be more familiar. With BDP, your brand's logo/icon can be installed on your phone's home screen as an application shortcut, behaving similar to those downloaded from the "app store". The process of "installing" is a bit different and we'll walk through those steps for both Apple/iOS & Android operating systems.*

{% hint style="info" %}
Before installing, make sure to add an App Icon to your[ Appearance Settings](/settings/appearance) before following these steps below. Consider using a free tool like [Canva](https://www.canva.com/) to turn your Company brand/logo into an App icon.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

## Apple/iOS

If you have an Apple device (iPhone/iPad), follow these simple instructions:

1. Open a Browser (Safari/Chrome), navigate and log into your BDP account
2. Select the "Send" Icon on along the bottom toolbar: <img src="https://cdn2.iconfinder.com/data/icons/ui-thick-lines/620/share_ios-512.png" alt="Export, ios, send, share, upload icon - Download on Iconfinder" data-size="line">
3. Scroll down to select "Add to Home Screen," choose a name for the shortcut, and click Add

## Android

For an Android device, the process looks a little different:

1. Open a Browser, navigate and log into your BDP account
2. Select the menu icon, 3-dots in the top-right corner: <img src="https://cdn0.iconfinder.com/data/icons/very-basic-android-l-lollipop-icon-pack/24/menu2-512.png" alt="Menu list formating, three dots, 3 dots icon - Free download" data-size="line">
3. Select "Add to Home Screen" and enter a name for the shortcut

# Order Log

BDP tracks status changes from Order creation to delivery

At bottom of each Order page lives BDP's **Order Log**. This real-time record of the Order's lifecycle provides visibility into Order status, capturing key events and documenting any changes made

* captures IP address of customer, date & time Order is created
* records date & time the Order Confirmation (receipt) is sent
* notes any changes made to the Order by an Admin, along with user, date & time
* on day of delivery, records Order status changes made by Driver users, from "Assigned" to "Delivering," and "Complete," again capturing user, date & time
* once an Order is history (day after), the Log retains key details including: order creation & confirmation sent, delivery notification sent, and 'Thank You' sent.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/njil92ab1rDW14120zdA" alt=""><figcaption><p>Order Log sample </p></figcaption></figure>

# Getting Online Reviews

Make it easy for customers to rave about your 5-Star service

Generating positive online reviews is simply good for business, but they can be elusive. The bulk delivery business is ALL about customer service, but it's hard to appreciate given our big rigs and brutish appearance... so BDP employs friendly communication tools to sweeten the deal. Improve the odds of a satisfied customer leaving a good review by making it *super* easy to do.

When the Driver elects to "Send Customer Thank You + Review Request SMS" (See [Customer SMS Notifications](/pro-tips/customer-sms-notifications)) after successful delivery, the customer will receive a final text communication from your company, something like this:

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/9m2vybsqdEfpOZlF12FN" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You just need to find your Google and Facebook Links and enter them into BDP.&#x20;

Find simple directions from Google on how to obtain your link from your Google Business Profile:

{% embed url="<https://support.google.com/business/answer/3474122?hl=en>" %}

To find your Facebook Review Link:

1. Go to your business's Facebook Page
2. Find the Reviews Tab
3. Copy the URL

Once you've got your links, enter into to [**Settings > Notifications > Messages**](/settings/notifications)

# Custom Domains

Want to use your own domain, or subdomain instead of the provided BDP URL? BulkDelivery PRO offers a paid option ($120/yr) to use your own URL instead of "bulkdelivery.app".

### Prerequisites

* A domain or subdomain you want to use
* Access to your domain's DNS records
* An existing BDP Account

### Step 1: Contact BDP Support to set up annual billing

1. Send an email ("<support@bulkdelivery.pro>") or use the [BDP contact page](https://bulkdelivery.pro/contact/).
2. Let us know that you'd like sign up to and enable usage of a custom domain, and let us know what specific domain or subdomain you decided on.

{% hint style="info" %}
Our support team will get back to you with a link you can follow to set up recurring (annual) payments for this service. They will also help you coordinate connecting the dots on the following required steps.
{% endhint %}

### Step 2: Create a Google Maps API Key

BDP requires that custom domain accounts use their own Google Maps API Key. Creating this key and usage for most BDP accounts will not result in any additional fees, but this step does require that a valid credit be stored.

[Google Maps API Key Setup Guide →](/pro-tips/custom-domains/google-maps-api-key-setup-guide)

### Step 3: Provide Google Maps API Key to BDP

Once you have the API Key, please provide it to BDP Support for testing. &#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
The process of setting up and testing a Custom Domain typically takes a 1-2 business days, largely dependent on the availability of staff or 3rd parties who can assist with managing DNS changes and setting up the Google Maps API Key. &#x20;
{% endhint %}

# Google Maps API Key Setup Guide

This guide walks you through creating a Google Maps API Key with Places API and Maps JavaScript API enabled, plus domain restrictions for security.

{% hint style="info" %}
A Google Maps API Key is only needed for accounts who are paying for a Custom Domain.  This is not necessary for account that are using the default "xxxx.bulkdelivery.app" domain.&#x20;
{% endhint %}
